Dearly beloved in Christ,
By His Grace we are at the tail end of the year 2011. When we look back in to the various experiences we had in the year 2011, through the eye of faith, the sincere hearts can say; that God is great, He is faithful in his promises though we were not. So let us humble ourselves before the Lord with thankful hearts and look with hope to the New Year ahead.
The Significance of Christmas is known to men, all over the world. Though it is true that Christmas is celebrated as the day of the Birth of Christ into this world, yet it also symbolizes a very deeply significant truth of the spiritual life. Jesus Christ is the very personification of Divinity. He was born at a time when ignorance, superstition, greed, hatred and hypocrisy prevailed upon the land. Purity was forgotten and morality was neglected. In the midst of these conditions, Christ was born and He worked a transformation in the lives of people. He gave a new and a spiritual turn to the lives of man. There came a change upon the land. People started upon a new way of life. Thus a new era dawned for the world. Here we need to find where we stand and how much these realities have realisation in us.
When we await a new year, It is good to examine our consciousness that how we are going to be “new” in the “new year”? How can we be a blessing to the places and situations in which we are send. How can we witness our Lord in an effective manner among the people whom we are? Will anybody get attracted to our Saviour because of our words, actions and reactions?
